Up until I attended Funnel Hacking Live it had been nearly 3 and a half years since I started in Internet Marketing...
For the last 3 years I have been researching and studying the landscape of this business, and experimenting with what I learned to find out what does and doesn't work...
Starting a business can be very expensive, but Internet Marketing is suppose to have a near zero cost of entry. Unfortunately that isn't so because in order to make money online you are going to have to spend a little money...
When I first got started I made some money, very little money, nothing to call home about, but I made a small profit. At the time I wasn't able to sustain what I was doing because I didn't have any money to keep it up, so I decided the best thing for me to do is learn as much as I can about Internet Marketing so that I could enable myself to make money online, and sustain doing it...
Along the way there were some bumps in the road and I got a few snags, but as you can see I hung in there and kept moving forward...
Like most entrepreneurs I was looking for the gold, mining as much information and data as I could so my business would eventually take off like a rocket ship...
What I've learned and found out about being an online marketer, running an business online, and making strides to make money online, is that in order for you to succeed you literally have to be a doer on your own accord because there is no easy buttons, one click set it and forget it solutions out there. Like any other industries, the industry of Internet Marketing takes a lot of work and effort, and like any business it takes time to develop...
Truth be told, in the beginning I got caught up in the 'shiny object syndrome', but I can say that it was all experimental for me and not like a child having a new toy. I quickly learned that the industry is flooded with gimmicky ploys that just put a spin on what you can already do with out it...
The worst thing I have seen and continue to observe about my experience and journey doing this, it is what I call the 'Walmart selling to Target effect'. What this means is marketers are marketing to other marketers, products and services that only help marketers sell and market to other marketers. So in reality, no one is really in the business of targeting general buyers. It is easy to get caught up in that loop and mentality of marketing...
This is my 4th business, and the good thing is, I have prior experience owning and running a business, so I can identify pitfalls and traps. Internet Marketing is entirely different from having a brick and mortar, so it is very hard to see the facade presented to you online...
Keywords, catch phrases, and buzz words will make you think a presentation of a product or service is it, but in reality it is worthless, and I am thankful for a YouTube video I watched through an offer on a landing page, where this guy tells his story and mentions it took him 10 years to start making money online. This horrified me, and I did not want something like this to be a part of my experience and story, so I dug as deep as I could to make sense of online marketing, searching and finding the right way to it...
Digital Mentors, Guru's, & Influencers
In the beginning when I started, I was fortunate to have searched for and found several instructional videos on YouTube that walked me through running my very first Facebook Ad. Following the instructions exactly as was shown, I made my first dollar(s) online that turned out to be profitable. That amazed me and let me know it was very real...
At this point I was convinced and searched for more, sifting through all the information I was consuming, filtering who to learn from...
The first and most impactful digital mentor I had is Tai Lopez. I was introduced to Tai when I first seen his YouTube video Ad "Here in my garage" with the Lamborghini and book cases lining the walls of his garage. Tai was promoting his 67 Steps program. I signed up and received a call from one of his sales rep. I was flat broke because I had just lost my job and used the last of my money to pay my rent. I explained my circumstance, and with great enthusiasm I let him know I really wanted in that program. At first I was turned down, but later received a call back from that same rep. He gave me entry with a scholarship. This was the introduction and first step to my journey as an entrepreneur in Internet Marketing. That was August 1st, 2015...
My second digital mentor is a Vick Strizheus. He taught and talked a lot about getting traffic to your websites and sales pages. Watching his YouTube videos, going on several of his webinars, and his sharing information for traffic sources got me pointed in the right direction...
My third digital mentor is Alex Becker. At the time he talked a lot about SEO (search engine optimization), and the information he shared has been invaluable...
My fourth digital mentor is Jamie Lewis. He calls himself "The Singing Guru". He creates digital products and services, then makes music videos to promote them. Jamie is a genius in my opinion with his ideas of marketing, but it comes off as a bit gimmicky. It was because of him that I made my first dollar(s) online finding a product on Click Bank, then selling it on Facebook running my first Facebook Ad...
My fifth and most current digital mentor is Russell Brunson, founder and owner of Click Funnels, a sales funnel web page software hosting service. I came across one of Russell's videos on YouTube that talked about a concept called sales funnels. This was still 2015 when I was first introduced to him by way of YouTube. I had never heard of a sales funnel, and never realized that making sales through internet marketing is with sales funnels. I found this to very intriguing. In that same video Russell talked about Facebook and some idealist methods you could implement to reach your ideal customers. I took what he said and immediately tried it out, and it worked. From then on I followed him on Facebook, and watch his content on YouTube, which eventually led to my attending Funnel Hacking Live in 2019...
There were many others whom I learned from and was influenced by, but nothing stuck with me or impacted me like the 5 people I mentioned here...
Working A Day Job Thinking About My Future...

In 2018 there was a lot of buzz going around about Funnel Hacking Live, and from what I was hearing that event was doing something special to it attendee's, and I wanted in on whatever that was, so I was determined to find out...
I made up my mind and set a goal that I was going to Funnel Hacking Live 2019, and I knew it was going to be expensive. So I set out for the rest of the year of 2018 as priority number one to save money to attend this event...
Whenever I was made to work overtime, I did it with pleasure because I had a goal in mind. But there was one conflicting issue I was faced with, and that was, Funnel Hacking Live was a 5 day event from February 19th thru the 23rd, and I only had two vacation days I could use. Fortunately, unbeknownst to me, an injury I had incurred several months prior suddenly became inflamed to the point I couldn't bare the pain. So, I was able to take time off for 4 days without penalty along with using the remaining 2 vacation days I had left. It was ironic that it worked out this way, but I was glad that it did...
In preparation of attending this event, I was going with a goal in mind, and that was to return home with an answer and commitment. I figured Funnel Hacking Live was going to be an epic experience, but I wasn't going there just to get inspired and feel good, I was going to get what was there for me to have, so I could make a significant difference with my business. I needed to make some serious changes, and that is what I set out to do...

What's Next?
Since the recording of this video quite a bit has changed. On Thursday July 25, 2019 I quit my job right after I completed the shift and clocked out. It felt good because it was a tremendous weight lifted off my shoulders...
I felt it was time to open the doors of opportunity for someone else to get the job and fill that position. I was in a good space financially to step back out own my own without having to worry about money for the next 6 months...
Funnel Hacking Live did help shift my mindset, and pushed me to take the leap and jump. I realized while I was there that you never know what happens until you go for it, and, the only way to see what's on the other side of knowing that, is to just do it. That's what I've done...
I would encourage you to do something for yourself, like I did attending Funnel Hacking Live. Sticking around the same places, with the same people, doing the same things, won't bring about the changes necessary for you to finally make that shift that has to happen in your life. Success is a process, and like with all things, it takes time to grow and mature, and must be nurtured so that it may be strong enough to sustain itself...
What's next for me is to continue to stay focused on building and running my business full-time, make money online and grow exponentially. I made the leap and jumped, there is no turning back now. I have to keep moving forward, and you should too...
